My name is Nelly, I'm a 23-year-old B.S. in Sustainable Development student at Tec de Monterrey in Monterrey Mexico and I'm a social entrepreneur, a sustainability passionate and a CSR enthusiast. 

I have a broad experience working with non-profits (4-5 years), social development projects and research with social impact, fundraising activities and event planning. I have received various awards regarding leadership, environment, ethics and innovation.

Also, I'm an ambassador for international organizations such as One Young World, and currently I'm part of the biggest student movement for social impact in the world by hosting the first Hult Prize National Finals in Mexico.

Nelly Andrade is a 23 years old BS in Sustainable Development at Tecnologico de Monterrey. It was in 2010 when, after an eye-opening experience with TECHO, a youth-led, non-profit organization that works throughout Latin America and the Caribbean to overcome poverty, that she saw that a positive change in her country is possible and that overcoming poverty in the continent is an attainable goal.

 Motivated by the effective and concrete results she saw, Nelly decided start a career in sustainable development and became permanent volunteer at TECHO were she became Training and Volunteer Coordinator at the Fundraising Campaign 2011, Construction Coordinator at the University construction in April 2011, Account Executive and Coordinator of School Life in May and December 2011 and Coordinator of the Northern Region financial TECHO-Partnerships plan from October 2011 to Jan 2012. Also, in her first year at Tec, she implemented and became the founder of Rockforestation, a sustainable development model created to foster environmental awareness, promote the conservation of protected areas in Nuevo Leon and the livelihood of the watersheds situated in north of Mexico. In January 2011, along with a multidisciplinary team in the Manufacturing Cathedra at Technology in Monterrey, Nelly became involved in the research project DOMOS: Dispositivos Médicos y Oportunidades, where she had the opportunity to develop medical devices of social impact for families living in slums.

Also in October 2011, Nelly received an award for most accomplished student of the School of Engineering and Information Technologies at Tecnológico de Monterrey and was selected to participate in the Human Rights Forum discussion: the tool that builds peace in the Third World Meeting of Values ​​and Culture of Lawfulness. By April 2012, Nelly became President of Consejo de Acciones por México (CAM) an organization with the mission to foster in youth a sense of belonging and social engagement through social, sustainable and high impact projects that boost youth social innovation. At CAM, she guided the group with a shared vision and ensured the fulfillment of the group's mission, she leaded the social intervention, coordinating strategic alliances and the social network project, Red ciudadana en incubadoras sociales: Edificar. This project was created to help people of San Gilberto overcome their situation empowering them to lead and manage their own projects. Edificar received an economic award and forms part of the network Jóvenes con Valor-Avancemos of Ashoka Mexico and FEMSA and has been recognized more than once by the Mexican Youth Institute. In November 2012, Nelly received an Honorable Mention in representation of Consejo de Acciones por Mexico in the National Award for Volunteer and Solidarity Action 2012 in the Youth Category given in hands of the First Lady of Mexico, in the Official Residence of Los Pinos and was representative of CAM at the State Youth Nomination Prize 2012 of Nuevo León.

By March 2013, she had participated in the Dialogue of social entrepreneurs with Armando Laborde, Manager of Ashoka Mexico and Central America and Co-Director of Latin America and in the same month, she was elected to participate in the IDB program, "Expres@te”, in the dialogue of "Youth and Social Innovation for Development" during the Seminar on Innovation and Youth. She attended GoodxGlobal, a day of events dedicated to the power of social good, technology and entrepreneurship, organized by World food Program USA, the United Nations Foundation and the Social Good Summit Austin. In May 2013, Nelly received an Honorable Mention by the Institute for Sustainable Social Development in Tec de Monterrey also on behaf of CAM. 

By October 2014, Nelly became a One Young World Ambassador after attending, with the support of Bancomer Foundation, the Company Cuahutemoc Moctezuma and Instituto de la Juventud Regia, the One Young World Summit 2013 in Johannesburg, South Africa. After this Summit, Nelly has continued to participate in different international Forums such as the European Youth Parliament 2014 in Armenia, the OECD Anual Forum 2015 in Paris, the Hult Prize Impact Retreat in London and the International Economic Forum for Latin America and the Caribbean, also in Paris. 

Currently, Nelly won the Tec de Monterrey National Women Prize 2015 in the Leadership Category, and has established a clear way towards social entrepreneuship by launching Challengers University, a program that helps high school students manage their talent in order to build their own social entreprise. Also, she has recently won the "Luminary Award" in the Hult Prize@ program (by being the worldwide best-in-class Hult Prize Campus Director) and becoming the National Director for the first Hult Prize National Finals in Mexico. This prize has been named by TIME as one of the Top 5 initiatives changing the world and by Professor Muhammad Yunus as the Nobel Prize for students.
